Palliative Care & Grief Support

Provided by Peace Arch Hospice Society

Offers a wide variety of services and programs for hospice & palliative support, as well as grief support for adults, children and youth.
Grief Support Services: Offers a range of specialized grief support services to meet the needs of everyone in the community, which includes Children, Teens, Adults and Families. Key services include individual and family counselling, support groups, relaxation groups, walking groups and more.

Counselling Services: Offers a safe place to express negative and other emotions without being judged. The clinical counsellors and trained volunteers provide individuals and their families with practical, emotional and spiritual support.

Relaxation Sessions: Offers individual and group sessions for individuals living with an advanced illness or for those coping with grief and loss.

Vigil Support: Provides a caring and trusted group of volunteers to make themselves available to sit at the bedside of someone who is within the last 72 hours of life. If possible, vigil support is provided 24 hours a day so that no one is alone. Volunteers may also offer to stay with the family if they need support.

Community Outreach & Education Programs: Registered clinical counsellors offer support and education.

Walking Groups: Drop-in group provides support for those moving through their grief and adjusting to life without their loved ones.

Self-referrals accepted. Pre-registration is required; call or see the website for more information.
