Roshni Clinic - For South Asian men and women dealing with alcohol and non-opioid drug use

A program for men and women (19 years and older) of the South Asian community struggling with physical and mental health issues associated with alcohol and non-opioid drug use.
The Roshni Clinic is part of the South Asian Clinic at the Creekside Withdrawal Management Centre on the first floor. Services are provided in English, Punjabi and Hindi by health care providers who specialize in substance use disorder and include:
  • Intake and assessment
  • Ongoing treatment for problems associated with alcohol and non-opioid drug use
  • One-time consultations for family doctors who would like recommendations on managing a patient with alcohol and non-opioid drug use disorder
  • A holistic, patient-centred approach with a strong focus on the cultural context and issues specific to members of the South Asian community
  • Medical management of second-stage withdrawal symptoms and substance use, including Methadone, Suboxone and other medications, one-to-one counselling, psychosocial, educational groups, education and support for families, and telehealth appointments by phone or computer for select patients.
  • Referral to other supportive programs.

Self-referrals are accepted as well as referrals from:
  • Family doctor or other health care provider
  • Community Substance Use Services clinics
  • Withdrawal Management Centre (Detox/Daytox)
  • Sobering Centre

Open Monday - Tuesday 8:30 a.m - 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
